Becoming an adult learner through the Literacy Council of Western Arkansas can be a life-changing process. We ask that, if you decide to join our program, you are committed to the process.
Our Commitment to Each Other
Expectations for Learners*:
- Consistency – In order for you to move forward in your learning, it is important that tutoring sessions happen on a consistent and regular schedule. We know that things happen in life, so be sure to let us, or your tutor, know if you are not able to make a class. Please do not stand them up.
- Commitment – This is not a life-long relationship, but it is important that you are committed to this work when you begin it.
- Clarity – Brene Brown says “Clarity is Kind.” We ask that you mean what you say and say what you mean.
- We ask that you let us know if you are having issues or struggles with your matched tutor and we are here to help!
*We have the same expectations of our tutors.
What you can expect from us:
- All of the Above plus
- Support
- Open Door Policy
- Assistance with any struggles or issues related to your tutoring and learning
